Building contractors: Fejér and Dános

Lajos Fehér master builder was born in Máramarossziget in 1877 and he graduated from Budapesti Műegyetem (Budapest Polytechnic) as an architect. In the beginning of his career he worked in the office of Polytechnic professor István Möller, then he set up his own business. László Dános was born in Budapest in 1884. After finishing his trade and technical studies, he became a member of the Chamber of Engineers. In 1921 they jointly established the firm Fejér and Dános Building Contractors which became the largest building company of Hungary.

The firm had branch offices in Debrecen, Sopron and Saloniki (Greece), as well. The company designed and constructed public and private buildings. The company Fejér and Dános Building Contractors was the initiator of small housing construction in Budapest.
